Investments of significant time, effort, or both that have greatly contributed to shaping my perspective and skills as an engineer and designer
Synthia
A visual synthesizer used at parties and gatherings that brings concert-level visuals to your home. Using ambient audio and live video, Synthia creates audience-driven audio-reactive visuals that are then projected back at the room.

PearCat
A competition robot with autonomous start capability, four wheel drive, and height varying gear spinner. PearCat was built and designed for MIT’s Design and Manufacturing I and competed in the class’s annual competition, where it was awarded the Animatronic Oz Prize for “most complex/most intricate mechanisms or robots.”

Cantilevered DeltaXY Research
Cantilevered DeltaXY is a novel printing architecture developed by Ilan Moyer with far higher lateral space efficiency than other printer architectures. Under his guidance, my research aided in the calibration of the existing mechanism by parametrizing kinematics. Currently, I am working to adapting the movement system to a rapidly-prototypeable model that allows for the exploration of multiple machines collaborating.

TwoFold
A cyanotype camera that opens to photogram and closes to photograph, allowing for twice the amount of exposure opportunities. By taking advantage of traditional cyanotype techniques and mechanical movements, Twofold exists as an entirely analog camera.

Layer by Layer: Mechanical Response of 3D Printed Beams
The full experiment design, execution, and data analysis of a beam bending experiment. I investigated the effects that cross-sectional geometry has on a 3D-printed beam’s relationship with print orientation and layer height by testing the flexural modulus and load capacity. My research culminated in a flash talk, poster, and research paper.

Small-scale Pool Boiling Facility
Designed and fabricated an experiment vessel used to investigate the effect of bubble agitation on the heat transfer coefficient of water. Boiling was mimicked using a perforated heater and gas input. Selected as a part of the MIT Energy Initiative Summer Cohort for 2024, and presented summer progress at the MITEI Annual Research Symposium.
